To maintain your system in top form and keep your warranty in good standing, there are certain aspects of your system that need to be checked and occassionally maintained.  That is why we have created an easy program to help our customers make sure their systems are running at peak efficiency.

We recommmend these 13-point inspection checklists for Solar Hot Water and Photovoltaic systems.   We will send out our technician to look over the following:

  1. Test the controller and all functions involved
  2. Run the sensors for accuracy with hot and cold relay tests
  3. Service pump if necessary and check flow/performance
  4. Examine expansion tanks and recharge if necessary
  5. Measure PH in Glycol and determine freeze point/acidity and flush if necessary
  6. Exercise mixing valve and check diaphragm to insure proper function
  7. Test system running pressures/temperatures and accuracy of gauges
  8. Check tank anode for corrosion
  9. Test Check Valve for directional control
  10. Check back-up elements and thermostat on Solar tank
  11. Inspect all insulation for deterioration/wear/weathering
  12. Inspect collector/s for damage or wear
  13. Test relief valve for proper function and ensure pressure seating
  1. Clean and inspect each individual solar module
  2. Torsion check on each piece of rack mounting and attachment hardware
  3. Evaluate flashings
  4. Inspect each module connection in series
  5. Check entire racking system
  6. Assess junction box
  7. Inspect conduit run
  8. Clean inverter fans if necessary
  9. Inspect PV system disconnect
  10. Check power output
  11. Pyronometer Test - Checks solar intensity
  12. Thermometer Test - Check panel temperature
  13. SPV Test - Overall system performance verification
