Residential Solar Process
The Steps to Going Solar
Energy Use Profile - Sunergy Systems will evaluate a year's worth of your electric bills to create a profile of your annual energy needs. Each home is unique and each family uses energy in different ways. Energy usage is highly dependent upon the variable weather throughout the year. This information is used to analyze operational characteristics, calculate energy benchmarks for comparison to averages, estimate savings potential, set an energy reduction target and establish a baseline to monitor the effectiveness of implemented measures.
Design - Sunergy Systems' electrical engineers will design a system custom tailored to your home's energy needs. We can also order an energy audit of your home to see if there are opportunities to reduce your home's energy usage.
Proposal - A Sunergy Systems engineer will typically design a hand full of different systems tailored to meet your energy solution. Included in these proposal options are applicable rebates and incentives, financing options, net investment in solar, annual savings and equipment specifications. These options will be presented during the site visit.
Site Visit - A Sunergy Systems Solar Design Consultant will visit your home to assess solar panel layout, roof angle, ground space and shading by trees or other buildings. Our consultant, will then typically present three to four system designs based on each and every goal discovered during our site visit.
Incentive Payment Applications - The proposed system design agreement is signed. Sunergy Systems will submit the applications for all rebates and production incentives available.
Final approval - Sunergy Systems will prepare all the paperwork for utility and local permitting. The customer has final approval of the system design and how it will look on your property before construction begins.
Installation - Construction time depends on the size of the system - homes usually take less than a week to complete.
Inspections - Sunergy Systems schedules all building, electrical and utility inspections.
Customer Care - Sunergy Systems delivers the customer care package, which includes as-built drawings, warranties, instructions, etc.
Follow Up - Yes these systems are basically maintenance free, but many experts suggest that an annual service and maintenance check is best. Having a certified service technician check the racking system, condition of the modules, wiring, junction box(es), module clamps, conduit runs, inverter mounting and read out, service panel connections and overall system output will guarantee that you're system is producing at maximum efficiency.
