We are currently experiencing bandwidth issues with our phone system through our communications provider. Because of that, when you call in there may be some break-up that occurs similar to a bad connection on a cell phone. We apologize for the call quality and are working behind the scenes with our provider to fix the problem. Unfortunately it is out of our hands at this point and we are waiting on another company for broadband installation to alleviate the problem.
Please feel free to email us in the meantime with questions or concerns or follow this link if you'd like to request us to come out to your site for an evaluation and quote.
Thank you for your patience and please bear with us. We'll have it fixed soon.

We're having our first weekend version of Solar U coming up on the 30th. We hope to see you there!

Have you ever been curious as to what companies or organizations are walking their talk when it comes to using renewable energy? Have a look at this link from the EPA that shows the top 50 users of green power in our nation. The article lists their annual Green Power usage (kWh), Gree Power percentage of total used, providers and Green Power resources.
Recently Kohl's Department Stores overtook PepsiCo for the #2 spot on the list with Intel Corporation in the lead. Rankings are based on annual Green Power usage
A snippet from the article:
These green power purchases help reduce the environmental impacts of electricity use and support the development of new renewable generation capacity nationwide. Purchase amounts reflect U.S. operations only and are sourced from U.S.-based green power resources. Organizations can meet EPA purchase requirements using any combination of three different product options (1) Renewable Energy Certificates, (2) On-site generation, and (3) Utility green power products.
Another article on Monday, January 25th from BizJournals.com states that Intel Corp. on Monday said it will install 2.5 megawatts of solar electric systems at its campuses in four states.

Seattle, WA (January 5, 2010) – Sunergy Systems, a leading integrator of residential and commercial solar electric systems, announces that they have completed the installation of the largest grid-tied solar power system done by a Washington State based company at Iwasaki Bros. Inc. in Hillsboro, Oregon. Iwasaki Bros. has become one of the largest wholesale growers of bedding plants in the Northwest and reports that the solar power system will generate nearly a quarter of its total electrical usage.
Iwasaki Bros. says it contracted with Sunergy Systems to install the solar power system for several reasons. After observing a project a friend had undertaken, Jim Iwasaki was interested in the prospect of installing a solar power system for their business. “We wanted to reduce our carbon footprint, lower our energy costs and utilize incentives while they are still there,” said Steve Ussery of Iwasaki Bros. “The actual installation went very smoothly.”
Sunergy sourced products from two local, Oregon companies for this project. The 665 solar panels were supplied by SolarWorld of Hillsboro and PV Powered of Bend supplied the inverter which connects the system to the grid.
“This is a really cool, big picture thing...!” according to Howard Lamb, Founder and Principle Engineer with Sunergy Sysems. “The Iwasaki Brothers are using solar to help raise their bedding plants. Once sold and planted, these “solar raised” specimens will then be using the sun’s rays to grow and mature... if that’s not a perfect “circle of life” example of how modern day solar can work, I don’t know what is! We’re extremely proud of this solar project and ALL of the good it will do!”
Sunergy Systems is a general and electrical contractor (WA GCL# SUNERS*936OG, WA ECL# SUNERS*911KF, OR CCB# 180276) and installer of solar power systems in Washington and Oregon. Based in Seattle, Sunergy Systems is one of the fastest growing renewable energy developers in the state. For more information call 206-297-0086 or 800-997-0086 or visit www.SunergySystems.com.
You're hearing a lot these days about climate change, energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy independence. At the forefront of a lot of these discussions is Solar Power.
Have you wanted to learn more about Solar but weren't sure where to turn? Now you have a place; Solar U, brought to you by Sunergy Systems.
Solar U is a purely educational, seminar-style program. We believe the only way to affect change in the way our world uses energy is to spread the message as widely as possible. It is incumbent upon us to provide information freely and without obligation to anyone who is interested in learning.
We've created this program as a way to answer the most important questions people have about Solar. At each event we will have our experts on hand to give personal education to attendees and answer questions as thoroughly as possible.
Check back on a regular basis as we will be adding seminars monthly. Go to Solar-U.com
A quote from Rhone Resch, chief executive of the Solar Energy Industries Association.
The quote taken from the full article at the NY Times, Green Inc. Blog.

But Mr. Resch said fossil fuel industries received $72 billion in federal subsidies between 2002 and 2008 while the solar industry scored less than $1 billion. “Taxpayers are forced to subsidize companies like ExxonMobil, companies that are the richest in the history of the world,” he said.
His solution: Start playing the influence game, raising big money for politicians and mobilizing constituents to pressure Congress to support the solar agenda. “In 2008, the oil industry contributed $22 million to political candidates, the utility industry $21 million,” said Mr. Resch. “The solar industry: $138,000. We cannot compete with the entrenched energy interests unless we step up our game.”
Regional Yellow Pages Online called our company today to say that a cancellation request for our yellow page listing on their website was received and they just needed to confirm our information to be able to send out the invoice for the last year. We told them that we had never heard of their company and asked who authorized the listing. The guy on the phone said he could put me in contact with a supervisor who could help me. When he put me on "hold" he never came back.
A warning to all other businesses out there. Do not say the word "yes" in any part of the conversation with these people. Apparently they try to use that as proof you authorized the charge for the listing. This is a scam and I found an article from a TV station in Idaho that reported on it. This last June, the State of Washington failed to renew the tax exempt status for Solar Hot Water when they passed SB 6170. Because of this, Sunergy is going to step up for our customers. For a limited time, we will pay your sales tax when you purchase a Solar Hot Water system from us.
It's that simple!
To continue the growth of solar in our state, we felt it was imperative for our customers to receive this incentive even if the state wasn't going to provide it.
