We are currently looking for a Solar Design Consultant with prior solar sales experience and basic solar engineering knowledge.  This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sunergy Systems Sales team - one of the largest, most well established solar sales and design departments in the state.  A key requirement for the position is a strong interest in solar technology with the ability to help educate homeowners and businesses on how to become less dependent on polluting energy; someone with a passion for building great client relationships.  As a Solar Design Sales Consultant, you’ll meet with potential customers and sell our solar design/installation services while reporting to a Sales and Marketing Manager.

Position Summary:

Build customer relationships with residential homeowners in the sales and design of both solar electric and solar hot water systems; explain and demonstrate in-home solar presentations; secure sales in the field; manage the internal sales cycle across all business units within the organization; responsible for seeing the entire sales process through - from phone call to completed sales contract; sales region covers the entire Puget Sound area.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze customer energy bill, rooftop layout, and propose appropriate solar energy systems to meet customer energy needs
  • Perform shading analysis; generate detailed reports for accurate system design; communicate job specifics with Engineering staff
  • Develop a relentless attitude for success; be able to always generate new sales leads and create new sales opportunities
  • Be a "networker; represent our brand/company at trade shows, industry events, etc.; become a passionate advocate for the growth of solar 
  • Possess a good balance of sales AND technical skills; knowing when and where to use each skill-set is crucial
  • Work each phase of the sales cycle to resolve any engineering, project management or customer service issues
Qualifications:
  • Preferred, 1 year selling solar to residential customers
  • Preferred, at least 5 years of experience in in-home sales with the ability of writing contracts in the $9,000 to $50,000 range
  • Must be able to climb up on roof tops and not be fearful of heights
  • Knowledge of solar design, electrical and mechanical systems a must
  • Ability to work in a team setting out of our Seattle office; interface with other departments throughout the company
  • Must present a professional, pleasant demeanor and appearance in all situations
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience working with a CRM system/software, preferably SalesForce.com
  • Must have reliable and presentable transportation
